Senior Patient Access Specialist

Location: On-site at Jupiter - Breast Center in Jupiter, FL; candidates must reside and be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $18.65–$19.90 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform patient admission and access activities, including assigning medical record numbers, collecting demographic and insurance information, processing physician orders, and providing patient instructions.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, support pre-registration and clean claims, and screen medical necessity using ABN software.
• Collect point-of-service payments, explain payment plans and treatment consent forms, and distribute required patient education and compliance documents.
• Audit accounts, correct documentation issues, maintain reporting data, and support quality and compliance standards.
• Develop training materials, provide continuing education, and create staff schedules for the patient access department.
• Provide on-call and after-hours support, including covering unscheduled staffing needs.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in a similar patient access position.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle processes, including admissions, billing, payments, and denials.
• Knowledge of insurance authorization, benefits verification, health insurance requirements, medical terminology, and CPT or procedure codes.
• Must be able to work on-site in Jupiter, Florida, reside in the United States, and be authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to provide compassionate customer service, follow regulatory requirements, and demonstrate openness to innovation, including AI.
