Patient Access Liaison (Rare Disease)

Location: Field-based in Jacksonville, Florida, United States; travel up to 50% with occasional overnight and weekend commitments.

Annual base salary: $158,394–$185,578 for Level 5 or $164,276–$222,256 for Level 6.

What you will do

• Support patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and sites of care with insurance benefits, prior authorization, reimbursement, and financial assistance processes.
• Identify and resolve access barriers, including coverage questions, denied claims, reimbursement issues, and potential treatment delays.
• Educate physician offices, infusion centers, and sites of care on coverage pathways, coding, billing, and reimbursement requirements.
• Engage with patients and caregivers by phone, virtually, and in person while securing HIPAA authorizations and assessing access needs.
• Collaborate with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Case Management, Marketing, and Site of Care teams.
• Document activities, report adverse events and product complaints, and follow compliance and pharmacovigilance procedures.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree; or a master's degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree with 4–6 years; or an associate degree with 8 years; or a high school diploma/GED with 10 years of patient services or access and reimbursement experience, depending on level.
• Experience with patient services, access and reimbursement, prior authorization, appeals, denied claims, and healthcare reimbursement systems.
• Ability to manage complex patient situations, resolve access barriers, and respond rapidly to urgent access needs.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, FDA, OIG, and internal compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work in a field-based role in the United States and travel up to 50%.

Nice to have

• Experience with buy-and-bill or infused pharmaceutical therapies.
• Rare disease or orphan drug experience.
• Clinical experience in nursing or an allied health field.
• Experience working in cross-functional matrix field teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM, AI, and relevant systems.
