Patient Access Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at Bon Secours Westchester Emergency Center in Midlothian, Virginia; limited to individuals residing and authorized to work in the United States

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform patient admission, registration, and pre-registration for hospital services.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain required signatures and distribute documentation.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and conduct account audits to ensure accurate and timely records.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service while meeting compliance and service goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Must be able to work onsite in Midlothian, Virginia.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must demonstrate curiosity and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire.
