XPLORER 2027 ProtoSpace (Rapid Prototyping) (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Complete a six-month curricular internship and Bachelor’s Degree Final Project from February to July 2027.
• Design the structure of a scaled, non-functional unmanned aerial vehicle model using CAD tools.
• Perform FEM simulations to validate structural integrity, fatigue considerations, and design requirements.
• Develop and manufacture prototypes using machining, laser cutting, hot-wire cutting, 3D printing, and composite manufacturing.
• Assemble prototype components and conduct tests to validate mounting concepts and structural capacity.
• Evaluate alternative manufacturing methods, materials, costs, timelines, and Design for Manufacturing considerations.

Requirements

• Currently studying an Engineering or IT degree and completing a final-year project.
• English proficiency at minimum B2 level; C1 is desirable.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in an international environment.
• Active interest in rapid prototyping and alternative manufacturing methods.
