Purchasing Manager (MedTech)

Location: Milpitas, California, United States of America; up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required.

Salary: $118,000–$203,550 per year.

What you will do

• Lead daily purchasing operations and manage a high-performing team of buyers.
• Lead monthly S&OP reviews with strategic suppliers and maintain effective supplier relationships.
• Monitor material shortages, develop mitigation plans, and protect production continuity.
• Manage purchasing KPIs, including supplier OTIF, safety stock, purchase order confirmations, invoice discrepancies, and excess inventory.
• Maintain accurate purchasing master data, including lead times, pricing, and order parameters, in the ERP system.
• Drive root-cause analysis, Lean-based process improvements, standardization, and cross-training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or university degree required; MA/MBA is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Advanced experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred.
• Experience developing, coaching, and leading buyers and team leads.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex topics.
• Ability to apply continuous improvement tools to large and complex projects; proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Experience with APO/SNP and advanced planning systems such as OMP.
• Experience leading cross-functional or virtual teams in a matrix environment.
• Financial process knowledge and strong planning and organizational skills.
• Green Belt Six Sigma or supply chain certification such as APICS or IBF.
