Commodity Manager (Indirect Procurement)

Salary: $149.1K–$215.9K USD annually for the Bay Area, California. Incentive opportunities are also available.

What you will do

• Develop and execute category, sourcing, and supplier strategies across indirect spend categories, including engineering services, contingent workforce, outsourcing, managed services, IT, facilities, HR, professional services, marketing, and corporate services.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing processes, including requirements gathering, spend analysis, RFx events, supplier evaluation, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Negotiate and manage MSAs, SOWs, outsourcing agreements, software agreements, contingent workforce contracts, and professional services engagements.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships through QBRs, scorecards, governance frameworks, risk assessments, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify cost savings, cost avoidance, supplier consolidation, process improvements, and value creation opportunities.
• Support procurement transformation, policy development, contract lifecycle management, process standardization, change management, and cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, finance, operations, engineering, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, vendor management, or category management experience, including significant indirect spend responsibility.
• Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, commercial deal structuring, spend analysis, cost modeling, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership evaluation.
• Experience managing contingent workforce programs, managed service providers, staffing suppliers, outsourced service providers, and supplier performance programs.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, presentation, financial analysis, and project management skills.
• Applicants must be eligible for any required U.S. export authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience in technology, semiconductor, manufacturing, or other fast-paced global organizations.
• Experience building procurement functions in a high-growth, newly independent, or transforming organization.
• Proficiency with SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, Workday, or similar procurement and ERP platforms.
• Knowledge of supplier diversity, sustainability, responsible sourcing, ESG procurement, labor market dynamics, and outsourcing governance.
• CPSM, CIPS, CSCP, PMP, or equivalent certification.
