Intern Design Analysis Group-Fluid & Thermal (CFD)

Location: Plant 10, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States; onsite. Relocation is available. The internship runs full-time from May through August 2027.

Salary: $18.00–$27.50 per hour.

Mercury Marine, a hirify.global division, manufactures recreational marine propulsion engines, boats, services, and parts for recreational, commercial, and government applications.

What you will do

• Apply computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer fundamentals to real-world marine product development challenges.
• Use Siemens StarCCM+ to analyze and optimize fluid flow and heat transfer in propulsion systems, drive systems, and vessels.
• Complete approximately 6–8 projects covering different aspects of marine propulsion systems.
• Use GT Suite to predict and optimize marine engine horsepower and torque and assess effects on boat acceleration and top speed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product development cycle from concept through production.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, engineering mechanics, naval architecture and engineering, or a similar field.
• At least second-semester sophomore standing with 48 completed credits.
• Available to work at least 40 hours per week onsite from May through August 2027.
• Eligible to enroll in a formal university co-op or internship program.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
