TL;DR

Focus on analyzing complex access barriers, coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders, and providing field-based support across an assigned New York territory.

Location: Albany, New York, United States, with a territory including Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse, New York. Permanent residence in the listed territory is required. The role involves up to 50% on-site time with healthcare providers and up to 75% travel.

Base pay: $102,000–$177,100 per year.

What you will do

  • Educate healthcare providers and office staff on reimbursement processes, claims submission, coding, coverage, and payer requirements.
  • Resolve patient access, affordability, fulfillment, prior authorization, billing, and appeals challenges.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives, key account managers, managed care colleagues, and internal medical, marketing, compliance, and patient solutions teams.
  • Use account data and market knowledge to identify access barriers and develop timely solutions.
  • Build trusted relationships with assigned accounts and manage territory routing, logistics, and business planning.
  • Support compliant access and fulfillment discussions while maintaining current knowledge of payer policies and specialty distribution channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in healthcare, business, or public administration.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in account management, reimbursement, managed care, or provider-office operations.
  • Expertise in pharmacy and medical benefits, buy-and-bill, coding, billing, prior authorizations, and appeals.
  • Experience with patient support hub services and the ability to analyze complex quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, collaboration, influence, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid US driver’s license, compliant driving record, and permanent residence in the assigned territory are required.

Nice to have

  • Neuroscience disease-state experience.
  • Advanced degree or certifications in prior authorization, billing, or coding.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, private payer initiatives, and pharmaceutical reimbursement.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Interest in emerging technologies such as AI.
