Applications Lab Associate II (NGS)

Location: USA - South San Francisco, California

Salary: $116,000–$135,000 USD annual base compensation, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Execute NGS library preparation, target enrichment, sample processing, and sequencing workflows.
• Perform PCR/qPCR, DNA quantification, purification, electrophoresis, and related molecular biology techniques.
• Operate and maintain liquid handling robots, sequencing platforms, and other laboratory equipment.
• Troubleshoot experimental and equipment-related issues and support protocol development and optimization.
• Track projects and samples, maintain batch records and digital sequencing records, and analyze experimental data.
• Collaborate with Sales, R&D, Field Applications, and Customer Support while maintaining production schedules and quality standards.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field; an associate degree with relevant experience may be considered.
• Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, including PCR, DNA purification, quantification, and library preparation.
• Laboratory experience with strong attention to detail, documentation, organization, and prioritization.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality results.
• Ability to work onsite in South San Francisco, California.

Nice to have

• 3–5 years of experience in molecular biology, NGS workflows, or a related field.
• Experience with Illumina, PacBio, Element, or ONT sequencing platforms.
• Experience with DNA, RNA, and methylation NGS assays and target enrichment workflows.
• Familiarity with BioAnalyzer, TapeStation, Qubit, and Nanodrop.
