Technician II, Surface Chemistry

Location: Onsite in Fremont, California, United States; Saturday-Wednesday schedule

What you will do

• Synthesize novel particle formulations in aqueous media.
• Optimize processes for downstream performance, stability, and reproducibility.
• Execute reactions, assays, quality-control tests, and experiments to characterize particle formulations.
• Spend approximately 90% of working hours in the laboratory and 10% on computer-based work.
• Collaborate with chemists, biochemists, molecular biologists, and engineers.

Requirements

• AA/AS degree in chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field, with hands-on laboratory experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience; exceptional new graduates with relevant academic research experience may be considered.
• Hands-on experience in a wet-lab environment.
• Safe and proficient use of common chemistry laboratory equipment and glassware.
• Working knowledge of basic organic chemistry concepts and reactions.
• Strong organization, time management, communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with UV-vis or fluorescence spectroscopy, DLS, flow cytometry, SDS-PAGE, or PCR.
• Experience with bioconjugation chemistry, surface chemistry, micro- or nanoparticle formulations, polymer chemistry, molecular biology, or protein chemistry.
• Experience with TFF, cross-flow filtration, reactor setup, large-scale production, and cross-functional collaboration.
