Medical Economics Consultant (Healthcare Analytics)

Location: Remote or hybrid within the United States; employees living within 50 miles of an office must work onsite three days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

What you will do

• Gather, validate, analyze, and report financial data related to strategic medical cost savings programs.
• Develop dashboards and executive-ready presentations showing program impact, outcomes, savings, and key opportunities.
• Provide strategic and tactical insights into emerging medical cost trends and claim cost drivers.
• Coordinate savings projections, business-case development, and post-implementation savings measurement.
• Partner with business areas and cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment to develop analytical approaches and communicate findings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, health, economics, mathematics, actuarial sciences, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in medical economics, healthcare analytics, informatics, or actuarial services within the healthcare payer sector.
• Strong analytical and technical data skills using SAS, SQL, R, Tableau, Excel, or similar tools.
• Experience extracting, summarizing, and analyzing large datasets and building dashboards with Tableau, Power BI, or R Shiny.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to present detailed analytics clearly to executives and business partners.
• Knowledge of healthcare industry trends and challenges, with the ability to work independently and meet business timelines.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in business, health, economics, mathematics, actuarial sciences, or a related field.
• Strong coding background in R, R Shiny, Python, SQL, or similar tools.
