Senior DevOps / Systems Engineer (AWS)

Location: Fully remote, based in the UK

Salary: £70,000–£80,000 per annum

What you will do

• Manage, monitor, and improve a production AWS environment, including EC2, load balancers, and VPC infrastructure.
• Design and maintain infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible.
• Write and tune WAF rules across Akamai and Cloudflare and manage CDN infrastructure.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines used by development teams.
• Maintain nginx, Redis, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Apache, and database infrastructure.
• Investigate production incidents, automate repetitive tasks with Python and Bash, and participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in DevOps or systems administration.
• Strong Linux systems administration experience in a production environment.
• Strong cloud architecture knowledge and experience with AWS services.
• Experience with nginx, Redis, Apache, MariaDB/RDS/Postgres, and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
• Strong Terraform, Python, and Bash scripting skills.
• Experience managing CDN and WAF infrastructure, particularly Akamai, and working with CI/CD pipelines.
