is building a financial platform with simple tools and human support for independent local businesses across Europe.
What you will do
- Manage UK and EU licensing work, including new authorisations, variations of permission, passporting, and cross-border notifications.
- Support engagement with the FCA and EU national competent authorities on applications, supervisory queries, and notifications.
- Lead public policy work covering payments legislation, the digital euro, digital identity, and other financial-services policy files.
- Draft position papers, consultation responses, and policymaker briefings, and represent in trade associations and industry working groups.
- Manage participation in the Scale-up Unit, including agenda-setting, submissions, and follow-through.
- Work with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Product, Commercial, external counsel, regulators, and trade bodies on regulatory questions and legislative developments.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer in England and Wales with four to seven years of experience in financial services regulation.
- Working knowledge of UK and EU financial services regulation and relevant policy developments.
- Experience drafting position papers, consultation responses, and internal advice in plain English.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams with external advisers and internal stakeholders against regulatory deadlines.
- Demonstrable experience in public policy, regulatory engagement, and advocacy is essential.
- Previous licensing or authorisation experience with the FCA, PRA, or an EU national competent authority is preferred.
