Principal Engineer - Corporate Technology

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid model with onsite work 50% of the time

What you will do

• Define the engineering vision, strategy, priorities, and roadmaps for People, Finance, and Procurement technology.
• Provide senior technical direction across enterprise platforms, integrations, data flows, and internally developed tools.
• Establish technical standards and guardrails covering security, resilience, scalability, operability, maintainability, and cost.
• Lead transformation, modernisation, platform selection, and major technology investment decisions.
• Develop Engineering Leads and senior engineers while establishing clear platform ownership and accountability.
• Oversee reliability, observability, incident and change management, disaster recovery, business continuity, security, compliance, and data governance.

Requirements

• Extensive senior engineering leadership experience in complex technology organisations managing multiple enterprise platforms or capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise SaaS ecosystems, integration methods, APIs, data flows, and cloud technologies.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion, Workday, or comparable People, Finance, Procurement, or ERP platforms.
• Experience leading major transformation, implementation, or modernisation programmes and establishing sustainable operating models.
• Strong understanding of reliability, security, operational risk, technology lifecycle management, and third-party vendor relationships.
• Experience coaching Engineering Leads or senior technical professionals and influencing senior business and technology stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with both Oracle Fusion and Workday and their broader technology environments.
• Experience supporting Finance, People, Procurement, or other enterprise business capabilities.
