What you will do
- Support equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, basic repairs, disassembly, and reassembly under the guidance of experienced technicians.
- Participate in mechanical and electrical maintenance activities and structured rotations to develop multi-craft skills.
- Observe and assist with troubleshooting and diagnostic processes for equipment issues.
- Follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, and safe maintenance practices.
- Document work orders, inspections, and basic maintenance reports while maintaining tools and work areas according to 5S standards.
- Complete required coursework through an approved Mechatronics Engineering Technology program while applying concepts on the job.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrollment in, or willingness to enroll in, an Associate of Applied Science program in Mechatronics Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Strong interest in mechanical and electrical systems, maintenance operations, and technical learning.
- Ability to follow instructions, learn new tasks, apply technical concepts, and work effectively in a diverse workforce.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, basic math skills, and preferred ability to read measuring devices.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds, stand for prolonged periods, perform physically demanding maintenance movements, and pass physical requirements to drive a forklift.
