Apprentice Fleet Mechanic

Location: Henderson, Colorado; onsite work at a company office or field location. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. The position does not offer visa sponsorship.

Salary: $20.00–$24.00 per hour, paid weekly and commensurate with experience.

What you will do

• Learn from and assist experienced mechanics with maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
• Inspect and access equipment in shop and outdoor environments, including work around moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
• Use diagnostic computer software to identify issues and track repairs.
• Maintain accurate repair orders, weekly timesheets, equipment condition records, and material usage records.
• Conduct safety inspections and prepare related documentation.
• Participate in training and maintain current hazardous-material and workplace-safety knowledge.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a vocational or technical school program, completed vehicle and equipment repair apprenticeship, or six months of general heavy truck, automotive, or equipment repair experience preferred.
• Ability to operate company vehicles and equipment daily with proper licensing.
• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of mechanical tools, materials, testing equipment, vehicle and equipment maintenance, and repair.
• Ability to follow safety procedures, communicate effectively, complete data entry, and work reliably as part of a team.
