Hardware Engineer (Acoustics)

Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid work with most office-based roles onsite three days a week

Salary: HUF 11,709,000–17,173,200 gross annual base salary

What you will do

• Develop and characterize microphones, microphone capsules, and related acoustic components for professional audio products.
• Define and execute acoustic measurement methods, test conditions, fixtures, validation plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Evaluate prototypes, alternative components, golden samples, measurement limits, and acoustic performance.
• Investigate acoustic root causes and troubleshoot issues with production teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Support new product development, sustaining engineering, cost reduction, component replacement, and product improvement projects.
• Manage multiple engineering activities and collaborate with software, mechanical, process, test, and quality engineering functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in acoustics, electrical engineering, audio engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• At least five years of experience in acoustic engineering product development.
• Strong understanding of electroacoustic principles, microphone and transducer behavior, and acoustic measurement techniques.
• Intermediate English proficiency required.
• Willingness to travel as required by project demands and a valid category B driving license.

Nice to have

• Experience with professional microphones, microphone capsules, or other professional audio products.
• Knowledge of Mentor Graphics or a similar electronic hardware development environment.
• Knowledge of analog audio electronics and interaction between acoustic, mechanical, and electrical design.
• Hands-on experience with PCBA hand soldering, assembly, and modification.
• Knowledge of Audio Precision; ability to play a musical instrument or sing.
