Software Engineering Intern - Spring 2027 (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States or Canada; onsite locations are available in San Francisco, New York, and Portland.

Salary: $55 per hour for candidates based in the US; CAD 55 per hour for candidates based in Canada.

What you will do

• Receive mentorship from experienced engineers and contribute to a production financial technology product.
• Build backend features for mobile and web applications, including transaction search and wire transfers.
• Develop administrative tools for account management, customer support, and fraud identification.
• Integrate third-party APIs for services such as check delivery and SWIFT code validation.
• Build frontend features, improve scrolling performance, and develop reusable product components.
• Collaborate with designers, data analysts, and engineers to improve customer-facing workflows.

Requirements

• Enrollment in an academic program, such as an undergraduate or graduate program.
• Interest in continually improving engineering skills, curiosity, and willingness to share perspectives.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly explain technical decisions.
• Backend and full-stack tracks: experience with Haskell or strong desire to learn it, plus familiarity with SQL.
• Frontend and full-stack tracks: experience with TypeScript; React experience is a plus for frontend candidates.
