Associate Scientist (Vaccines)

Location: Onsite laboratory-based role in Pearl River, New York, United States. Generally business hours with occasional schedule flexibility; minimal travel expected. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $60,200–$100,400, plus eligibility for a 7.5% bonus target.

What you will do

• Perform analytical testing to support vaccine process development, formulation development, characterization, stability, and release activities.
• Prepare samples and operate analytical instruments using approved methods and procedures.
• Support method development, verification, qualification, method transfer, and troubleshooting experiments under guidance.
• Process, review, interpret, and summarize experimental data for supervisors and project teams.
• Document laboratory work in electronic laboratory notebooks and prepare analytical methods, protocols, reports, and qualification documentation.
• Maintain laboratory readiness through instrument checks, reagent and consumable management, housekeeping, waste handling, and compliance with safety and data-integrity requirements.

Requirements

• BA or BS in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline, with 0–2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Undergraduate laboratory research, internship, co-op, or industry experience may qualify with strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to learn analytical methods.
• Basic understanding of scientific principles, laboratory procedures, data analysis, documentation, and communication.
• Hands-on experience with HPLC/UPLC and UV/Vis spectroscopy.
• Ability to execute experiments under supervision, work effectively in a team, perform scientific calculations, and manage assigned laboratory tasks.
• Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with Capillary Electrophoresis, Dynamic Light Scattering, or related analytical platforms.
• Familiarity with vaccine-related materials, analytical method qualification, data-integrity practices, and laboratory troubleshooting.
• Experience with electronic laboratory notebooks, chromatography data systems, LIMS, Microsoft Excel, and scientific software tools.
