Intern – Manufacturing Electronics / Software Engineering (Medical Devices)

What you will do

• Support daily manufacturing operations across electronics, electromechanical, software, and service-related systems.
• Troubleshoot production issues, field returns, test failures, software anomalies, and process performance concerns.
• Support test fixtures, calibration, software and firmware checks, test methods, and protocol execution.
• Assist with engineering change orders, verification activities, technical documentation, and validation records.
• Perform data analysis, yield trending, failure tracking, and reporting using Excel, Minitab, or similar tools.
• Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, test coverage, waste reduction, and throughput.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, software, biomedical, systems, or mechatronics engineering, or a related discipline.
• Interest in medical device manufacturing, product sustainment, electronics, software, and continuous improvement.
• Interest or experience in electronics assembly, embedded systems, software development, sensor technology, test systems, or electromechanical products.
• Basic understanding of troubleshooting, programming concepts, software debugging, root cause analysis, data analysis, engineering documentation, design controls, or software development lifecycle concepts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to document technical work clearly.
• Ability to follow controlled documentation, ESD safety, cleanroom entry, quality system, risk management, and regulated manufacturing practices.

Nice to have

• Coursework, projects, internships, or hands-on experience with electronics, embedded systems, software development, manufacturing, medical devices, or regulated products.
• Exposure to CAD, programming languages, scripting, data analysis tools, C programming, FPGA, or VHDL.
