Senior Scientist II Biologics & Genetic Medicine (LCMS Characterization & Bioanalysis)

Location: North Chicago, Illinois, United States; laboratory-based onsite role.

Salary: $109,500–$208,500 annually.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain LC/MS instruments, including QQQ, TOF, and Orbitrap platforms, to generate high-quality experimental data.
• Perform affinity purification and LC/MS-based characterization of monoclonal and multispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, antibody-siRNA conjugates, and tLNPs.
• Develop and optimize quantitative bioanalytical assays and in vitro stability methods for novel biologic entities.
• Conduct serum aggregation, stability, lysosomal stability, biotransformation, and in vivo PK, TK, and PK/PD support studies.
• Analyze data, maintain electronic laboratory notebooks, generate reports, and present scientific findings.
• Coordinate characterization activities across QTAS, HT-ABBA, Discovery BGM, ADC Discovery, and Conjugation teams while mentoring 2–3 scientists or senior scientists.

Requirements

• PhD in biological sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant industry experience, or a bachelor's/master's degree with more than 10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of biologics' biophysical and biochemical properties, including aggregation, post-translational modifications, and stability.
• In-depth LC-MS and protein mass spectrometry expertise with experience across multiple mass spectrometer platforms.
• Experience with biologics and ADC characterization, quantitative bioanalysis, DMPK, and stability assessment.
• Ability to use Protein Metrics Byos, Mass MetaSite, Empower or Chromeleon, and GraphPad Prism for data management and analysis.
• Strong publication record, communication skills, technical problem-solving ability, and experience working independently and cross-functionally.

• Experience evaluating new technologies and applying AI-enabled or data-driven approaches to biologics characterization.
