What you will do
- Design and execute analytical experiments supporting biotherapeutics process development.
- Apply LC-MS, HPLC/UPLC, and related analytical techniques to protein characterization.
- Develop analytical strategies for product development, method qualification, validation, and regulatory submissions.
- Prepare publication- and regulatory-quality documentation and provide technical guidance on client programs.
- Review analytical data and reports, manage project timelines and resources, and advise leadership on technical challenges.
- Mentor junior scientists and associates and contribute to continuous improvement within the AFS team.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Biochemical Engineering.
- At least 4 years of experience for the Senior Scientist level or 6 years for the Principal Scientist level.
- Strong expertise in protein structure, aggregation, higher-order structure analysis, and protein analytics by LC-MS.
- Proficiency with scientific software and data analysis tools, with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and comply with safety requirements.
- Working knowledge of process development; fermentation development and downstream operations are advantageous.
Nice to have
- Experience with chromatography, TFF, refolding, conjugation, or other downstream purification operations.
