Software Engineer (Python/Java/SQL)

AVOW operates a mobile OEM advertising business supported by a high-volume data platform, analytics warehouse, and internal media operations software.

What you will do

• Build and maintain Python ETL pipelines with Apache Airflow on Amazon MWAA and ECS Fargate.
• Implement API ingestion, pagination and rate-limit handling, S3 staging, and Redshift COPY loads.
• Develop the Redshift star-schema warehouse, SQL transformations, Flyway migrations, performance tuning, and data-quality checks.
• Contribute to the internal platform using Spring Boot 3, Java 21, WebFlux, R2DBC/PostgreSQL, Redshift, Vue.js, Nuxt, and Vuetify.
• Add mobile attribution and ad-network integrations from API clients through reporting.
• Own reliability through idempotent jobs, structured logging, monitoring, alerting, runbooks, on-call participation, code reviews, and tested changes.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience with production code in at least two of Python, Java, and SQL-heavy data work, plus willingness to work across all three.
• Strong SQL skills, including window functions, CTEs, large joins, and experience with a columnar or MPP warehouse such as Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
• Python experience for data pipelines, including API clients, transformations, pandas or equivalent tools, and pytest.
• AWS production experience with S3, IAM fundamentals, and at least one of ECS, Lambda, or EC2.
• Experience with scheduled data workflows and reliable, idempotent failure handling.
• Ability to read and modify a Java or similar typed backend codebase.

Nice to have

• Amazon MWAA or large-scale Airflow experience and advanced Redshift knowledge, including COPY/UNLOAD, DISTKEY/SORTKEY, WLM, and system tables.
• Spring WebFlux, reactive Java, R2DBC, Vue.js/Nuxt, React, Terraform/Terragrunt, Docker, or GitHub Actions experience.
• dbt or comparable transformation frameworks and Flyway or similar migration tooling.
• Ad-tech or mobile attribution experience with MMPs, affiliate platforms, postbacks, attribution windows, and cost/revenue reconciliation.
