Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States, with occasional travel for company onsites and project planning, typically 2–4 trips per year.

Annual base salary: $124,000–$134,000 for Senior Engineer I or $137,000–$147,000 for Senior Engineer II, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own product features end to end, partnering with design, product, and data teams to define technical strategy and evaluate trade-offs.
• Architect and deploy features using AI models, autonomous agents, and agentic workflows across product architecture and internal development processes.
• Design resilient, cloud-native systems for high scale, low latency, security, telemetry, and downstream data consumption.
• Instrument features, monitor business and performance metrics, investigate post-launch gaps, and iterate based on user behavior.
• Build and maintain fullstack applications across frontend, backend, databases, and infrastructure.

Requirements

• Deep experience building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade applications in cloud-native environments.
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows and rapid, high-quality code generation.
• Strong product and business judgment, including ownership of metrics such as conversion, retention, and operational cost.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and analytical data engineering pipelines.
• Expertise with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Expo (React Native); experience with Laravel and PHP is helpful but not required.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, AWS, financial technology platforms, or payroll systems; lending, payments, BNPL, or ACH experience is highly valued.

Nice to have

• Experience in lending, payments, buy now, pay later, automated clearing house, or related financial products.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading projects toward Staff or Principal Engineer responsibilities.
