Senior Engineering Manager, Remitly Global Card (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid work from the Arlington, Virginia office, with an in-office expectation of at least 50% of the time monthly

Salary: $208,000–$260,000 USD annual base salary, plus equity and other compensation components

What you will do

• Lead engineers building the hirify.global Global Card, including customer-facing screens, APIs, card-issuing services, balance management, and money movement.
• Provide technical leadership for complex, long-term, cross-team engineering initiatives and define engineering strategy.
• Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, and engineering stakeholders to prioritize the roadmap and translate strategy into actionable OKRs.
• Own execution through quarterly goals, resource allocation, prioritization, and organizational planning.
• Hire, onboard, manage, and develop experienced engineers while establishing the Arlington engineering culture.
• Drive safe adoption of AI and agentic coding tools to improve engineering productivity and product velocity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on technical management of full-stack software, API design, and server-client interactions.
• 5+ years of recent experience hiring and managing technical teams, including performance management.
• Expertise in at least one backend or full-stack language such as Go, Kotlin, Java, or TypeScript.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and performant software on cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
• Experience applying AI to developer productivity or product features, including enabling safe AI tool adoption.
