Senior HRIS Specialist (Contract)

Location: Herndon Area, Virginia, United States; 80% onsite and 20% remote. Travel required: 5% domestic and international.

Salary: $50.00–$55.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Implement, administer, maintain, configure, test, and upgrade HRIS applications and modules across HCM, benefits, compensation, absence management, time management, and payroll.
• Support the transition of the HRIS roadmap to Workday, ServiceNow, and other HR technologies, including implementation leadership and post-go-live optimization.
• Analyze complex business requirements and design HR process and system solutions, enhancements, integrations, and automation opportunities.
• Build HR reports and analytics, maintain organizational and master data, perform audits, and improve data integrity and reporting efficiency.
• Manage vendor relationships, tickets, escalations, releases, testing, documentation, and end-user support.
• Partner with HR, IT, Legal, Compensation, Global Data Governance, SMEs, and business process owners to ensure compliance, security, privacy, and effective project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Human Resources Management, or equivalent experience.
• 15 years of relevant experience, including 10+ years with HRIS implementations.
• Extensive full HCM lifecycle experience covering HR master data, payroll, compensation, absence management, time management, benefits, and employee shared services.
• Experience with Workday HCM Suite and/or Dayforce; technical proficiency with ServiceNow, project management tools, and Google Workspace.
• Strong analytical, communication, project management, problem-solving, leadership, prioritization, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
• Experience with organizational administration tools and systems.
