TL;DR
Software Architect (Java) (Energy Platform): Designing and validating architecture for a scalable, business-critical balancing services procurement platform with an accent on Java, Spring, security, integrations, and regulatory compliance. Focus on defining architecture standards, validating distributed components, integrating platform products, and ensuring ISMS / BSI KRITIS compliance.

Location: Germany; fully remote, office-based, or hybrid work is available.

Salary: EUR 3,025–4,900 gross per month, depending on experience, location, and professional growth.

What you will do

  • Design and validate software architecture for a critical on-premises energy platform.
  • Define architecture standards and ensure compliance across the platform.
  • Validate software components, integrations, and interfaces.
  • Produce and maintain architectural documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ISMS and BSI KRITIS requirements.
  • Support product integration and coach development team members.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Java development experience, working with Java 8–21.
  • Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security.
  • Hands-on experience with Hibernate, Oracle SQL, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, Camunda, and Hazelcast IMDG.
  • Experience with REST, AMQP, gRPC, OpenAPI, SFTP, React, JavaScript, CI/CD, and DevOps tools.
  • Experience designing software architecture.
  • English at Upper-Intermediate level or above and German at Upper-Intermediate level or above are required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SQL Server, multi-database environments, Apache Tomcat, JSP, Octopus Deploy, Ant Design, or Highcharts.
  • Experience with Camunda Cockpit, Hazelcast Management tools, or Scrum.
  • Experience in critical infrastructure or regulated industries, especially the energy sector.
