Security Engineer (Fintech)

Location: On-site in Mexico City, Mexico, at the Condesa office

hirify.global is a Mexico-based fintech offering credit cards, BNPL loans, bill payments, and a marketplace through a mobile-first application.

What you will do

• Design and implement secure-by-default guardrails across cloud infrastructure and developer workflows.
• Improve IAM, secrets management, endpoint management, access controls, and security observability.
• Harden AWS infrastructure with Terraform and policy-as-code while building security tooling and automation.
• Own penetration testing and the bug bounty program, triage findings, and drive systemic remediation.
• Lead SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 certification efforts through automated evidence collection.
• Review engineering designs and pull requests with a security-first approach while working directly with executive and engineering leadership.

Requirements

• Engineering background with substantial experience in security for production environments.
• Hands-on cloud security experience, ideally with AWS services including IAM, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, VPC, KMS, and security groups.
• Experience building or modifying infrastructure with Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Ability to write code, ship infrastructure, and own implementation and outcomes.
• Experience building security programs in a startup environment and balancing security with engineering velocity.
• Willingness to work in person from the Mexico City office.

Nice to have

• Experience leading SOC 2, ISO 27001, or a comparable certification.
• Experience personally running a bug bounty program or managing external penetration tests.
• Daily use of Claude Code or other agentic coding tools.
