Senior Cloud Architect (AI)

Location: Remote in the United States or Canada; applications from outside Canada and the United States will not be considered.

Salary: $53–$73 USD per hour

What you will do

• Contribute to architectural design across cloud, data, and AI/ML systems, owning meaningful components end to end.
• Build and integrate cloud-native microservices, serverless applications, and containerized workloads.
• Implement infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Design data architectures including pipelines, warehouses, and data models.
• Support AI/ML system design, model serving, MLOps pipelines, and LLM-based integrations.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, AI, and product teams while documenting decisions, participating in design reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with exposure to architectural decision-making.
• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud-native architectures.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one additional modern programming language such as Java, Scala, or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data pipelines, ETL/ELT, microservices, serverless, and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with AI/ML system design, MLOps, LLM integration, security, compliance, and observability fundamentals, plus demonstrable use of Claude or Cursor.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Airflow, dbt, SageMaker, Vertex AI, MLflow, or Hugging Face.
• Experience working with GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2 requirements.
