Staff Data Systems Architect (Data Platform)

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end systems design of the product data stack and maintain its architecture roadmap.
• Coordinate the consolidated data stack across Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Product Analytics, and backend engineering.
• Define and enforce data movement, standardization, ownership, and architecture practices across the organization.
• Lead evaluations of new tools and vendors, identify duplication, and support proof-of-value assessments and platform migrations.
• Develop compliance architecture for user data, including PII tagging and deletion/DSR workflows across data destinations.
• Administer access, licensing, and vendor spend while documenting and communicating architecture decisions.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience in systems design, architecture, or engineering, including 3–5 years designing end-to-end data platform architecture at architect or staff level.
• Experience architecting modern customer data stack integrations for product analytics, experimentation, attribution, and marketing activation.
• Experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data platform, including performance tuning, cost optimization, and role-based access design.
• Experience leading vendor evaluations, tool consolidation, platform migrations, and cross-organization architecture decisions.
• Experience implementing data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, including PII handling and deletion/DSR workflows.
• Advanced SQL knowledge and the ability to enforce architecture standards through automation.

Nice to have

• Experience with semantic and metrics layers using dbt or similar tools.
• Experience with data cataloging, governance, metadata stewardship, experimentation metrics, and exposure or assignment pipelines.
• Experience in consumer-facing subscription apps and acquisition, retention, and engagement metrics.
• Experience making governed data safely available to AI assistants and agents through AI-ready models and controlled access patterns.
