Superintendent - Heavy Highway

What you will do

• Supervise skilled trade crews and manage onsite construction activities for heavy highway, roadway, and bridge projects.
• Lead Foremen in executing work safely, productively, and to quality standards.
• Coordinate with the Operations Manager, Project Manager, and Project Engineers on project direction and evaluation.
• Create and maintain 90-day and 3-week crew schedules, including project pre-planning and goal setting.
• Coordinate manpower, heavy equipment, tooling, materials, and subcontractors.
• Monitor work-item costs and support project safety, production, and profitability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent technical experience progressing from Journeyman to Foreman to Superintendent.
• At least 6 years of similar construction field management experience.
• Strong understanding of safety laws, company policies, and industry practices.
• Ability to manage varied self-performing trade disciplines and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
• Ability to create schedules in Microsoft Excel and use Microsoft Word for pre-planning.

Nice to have

• Roadway or highway construction experience.
• Experience assisting with employee interviewing and training.
