Senior Benefits Consultant (Employee Benefits)

Location: Minneapolis, MN, USA

Salary: $110,000–$150,000 annual

What you will do

• Manage a client book of business, including retention, growth, renewals, marketing, and onboarding.
• Develop and execute employee benefits strategies and advise clients on compliance.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, large-claim details, projections, underwriting exhibits, demographics analyses, and IBNR calculations.
• Lead client meetings, presentations, market meetings, seminars, and training programs.
• Manage client escalations and serve as a strategic and financial resource.
• Provide guidance and training to Consultants, Account Managers, and Analysts, with potential progression to team leadership.

Requirements

• At least 9 years of employee benefits experience and 4 or more years of financial experience.
• A four-year degree or equivalent experience; Business Administration, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong to expert Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and critical-thinking skills, confidentiality, independence, and organizational ability.
• Must obtain and maintain an active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License.
• Periodic travel may be required, including driving a personal or rental vehicle; acceptable motor vehicle and insurance records are required when applicable.
