Staff Analytics Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom; hybrid with 60% of the week at office locations or local sites and the rest remotely

What you will do

• Define the technical direction, engineering standards, and operating models for cybersecurity data products.
• Lead the design and evolution of analytics architecture, including data lakehouse patterns, modelling frameworks, and semantic layers.
• Establish approaches for data integration, transformation, quality management, governance, security, and compliance.
• Drive automation, DataOps, testing, monitoring, deployment, and operational reliability for data products.
• Shape analytics agents, conversational analytics, and natural-language data exploration with responsible AI controls and human oversight.
• Partner with security, engineering, and data leaders while recruiting, coaching, and mentoring Analytics Engineers.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale data products, technical strategy, architecture, and engineering standards across teams.
• Expert programming experience with Python and PySpark, plus advanced SQL for large-scale transformation and analytics.
• Extensive experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks on Azure, lakehouse architecture, data modelling, and data quality controls.
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT, batch and near-real-time processing, Airflow, dbt, Git, testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience with dashboards and self-service analytics using tools such as Tableau, as well as analytics agents or conversational analytics.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, security operations, threat detection, responsible AI, and strong technical leadership and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with collaborative development methods such as mob or ensemble programming.
