Senior Data Engineering Consultant (Databricks)

What you will do

• Deliver data engineering and analytics solutions using Databricks and PySpark.
• Develop, optimize, and support data ingestion, transformation, and quality-control pipelines.
• Build, publish, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Integrate Databricks with cloud platforms and technologies such as Azure, AWS, GCP, and Snowflake.
• Lead end-to-end technical and project delivery across Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, DevOps, and testing environments.
• Lead technical or project teams and engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in data management, data engineering, data warehousing, data modelling, data quality, data integration, analytics, visualisation, data science, or business intelligence.
• Strong Databricks, PySpark, Python, and SQL skills, including complex SQL query development.
• Proven experience building and supporting Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Experience with data ingestion, transformation, quality control, DevOps, and infrastructure deployments using Azure and Databricks.
• Experience leading technical or project teams and delivering end-to-end projects.
• Eligible to work in the UK without restriction and willing to work on client sites, travel, and stay away from home for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAS, relational databases, data warehousing, and enterprise ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, DataStage, or Alteryx.
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Scala, Oracle, Pega, or Salesforce.
• Financial services experience, line management, team building, mentoring, or staff development experience.
