Senior Data Engineer (Azure, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric)

What you will do

• Design and develop ingestion pipelines from business systems into a governed cloud data platform.
• Build scalable data engineering solutions with Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.
• Implement medallion architecture patterns, reusable engineering frameworks, and curated analytical datasets.
• Support the migration of reporting and analytics workloads from legacy SQL Server platforms.
• Contribute to data modelling, semantic models, metadata management, and analytical solutions.
• Provide design guidance, establish engineering standards, review code, and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and PySpark.
• Experience with Delta Lake, production lakehouse or medallion architectures, Git, and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with SQL Server, AI coding assistants, architecture decisions, code reviews, and engineering standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Production experience with Microsoft Fabric and semantic modelling in Power BI or Microsoft Fabric.
• Microsoft or Databricks Data Engineer certifications.
• Experience with dimensional modelling, Microsoft Purview, data lineage, and metadata management.
• Experience in regulated financial services environments.
