Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician (Pharmacy)

What you will do

• Complete the accuracy-checking process after the pharmacist’s clinical check, and support dispensing when required.
• Check the legal validity and accuracy of prescriptions and complete prescription administration accurately and on time.
• Support customers with common ailments, prescription medicines, pharmacy services, and appropriate product information.
• Deliver pharmacy services and dispensing procedures in line with standard operating procedures.
• Respond to clinical, legal, and customer queries within the scope of competence, escalating complaints to the pharmacist.
• Support the Pharmacy Manager with team supervision, coaching, feedback, compliance, and departmental targets.

Requirements

• Pharmacy Technician or Accuracy Checking Technician NVQ qualification, or equivalent.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician or Accuracy Checking Technician.
• Completion of a recognised Accuracy Checking Technician or Pharmacy Technician training course.
• Completion of annual Continuing Professional Development requirements and maintenance of GPhC registration.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow legal, professional, and operational procedures.

Culture & Benefits

• Permanent part-time contract with 17.5 working hours and a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, or as few as 12 hours by agreement.
• Availability is required on Sundays from 10:00 to 17:00, Tuesdays from 10:00 to 20:00, and Saturdays from 08:00 to 16:30; shifts are scheduled within these windows with three weeks’ notice.
• Annual GPhC fee payment, annual bonus scheme, contributory pension, and starting holiday entitlement of 28 days including bank holidays plus one personal day.
• Pharmacy training delivered with Diabetes UK, Cancer Research UK, and the British Heart Foundation, plus a structured leadership training plan.
