Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician (Pharmacy)

Location: Bedford, based at Flitwick Superstore, United Kingdom

Salary: From £15.70 per hour; higher rates apply for stores inside the M25. The role offers a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with opportunities from 12 hours.

What you will do

• Complete accuracy checks on dispensed prescriptions following a pharmacist’s clinical check.
• Carry out dispensing processes when the pharmacy skill mix does not allow the accuracy-checking role to operate.
• Identify customer needs, provide information on common ailments and medicines, and explain suitable products and pharmacy services.
• Support pharmacy services and dispensing procedures in line with standard operating procedures.
• Respond to clinical, legal, and prescription-related queries within the scope of competence, escalating complaints to the Pharmacist.
• Maintain accurate administration, clean dispensary and consulting areas, legal compliance, and departmental standards while supporting colleagues through coaching and feedback.

Requirements

• Pharmacy Technician or Accuracy Checking Technician NVQ qualification, or equivalent.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician or Accuracy Checking Technician.
• Evidence of completing a recognised Accuracy Checking Technician or Pharmacy Technician training course.
• Evidence of completing annual Continuing Professional Development requirements and maintaining GPhC registration.
• Ability to work the advertised availability windows: Monday 12:00–20:00, Friday 08:00–18:00, and Saturday 10:00–16:00.
• Successful applicants must provide bank account details before the agreed start date.
