Principal Engineer - Classical Cryptography & Architecture (Post-Quantum Cryptography)

What you will do

• Own the classical and hybrid cryptography architecture for PQC hardware acceleration products used in HSM and network-appliance applications.
• Define architectures for symmetric ciphers, hash functions, RSA/ECC offload, random-number generation, entropy, key management, and key hierarchies.
• Design crypto-agility and migration mechanisms, including hybrid key establishment, dual signatures, and composite certificates.
• Track NIST and IETF standardization for hybrid approaches in TLS 1.3, IKEv2, and composite certificates.
• Guide RTL and software engineers, evaluate third-party cryptographic IP, and support FIPS 140-3 and CAVP certification.
• Ensure interoperability with deployed HSM, PKI, TLS, and IPsec ecosystems.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Cryptography, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 12 years of experience implementing and architecting classical cryptography in hardware, software, or both.
• Deep knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric primitives, modes of operation, key management, and entropy generation.
• Experience taking cryptographic subsystems through FIPS 140-3 or Common Criteria evaluation, including CAVP certification.
• Working knowledge of NIST post-quantum algorithms including ML-KEM, ML-DSA, and SLH-DSA, plus practical hybrid classical/PQC architecture.
• Fluency in English is required; the role is based onsite in Geneva, Switzerland.

Nice to have

• French or German language skills.
• Experience with deployed HSM, PKI, TLS, and IPsec infrastructures and hybrid cryptography standardization.
