Technical Lead/Chief Security Architect (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Serve as the senior technical authority for enterprise security architecture across legacy and emerging health IT systems.
• Translate customer and mission requirements into technical direction for security architecture and engineering teams.
• Advance architectures spanning cloud, mobile, IoT, APIs, VR/XR, 5G, post-quantum cryptography, DLP, quantum computing, and AI.
• Lead enterprise risk management, design reviews, research, and detailed trade-off analysis across fiscal, schedule, and performance constraints.
• Create architecture diagrams and documentation, including network topology and system components.
• Ensure alignment with NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, CIS Controls, HIPAA, and other federal security policies, while providing project management oversight.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of enterprise security architecture or information security experience at a large company or government agency comparable to GSA, IRS, DoD, or VA.
• Expertise in security architecture, security engineering, project management, risk management, and Enterprise Architecture tools.
• Experience guiding architecture processes and products such as SABSA and analyzing complex system architectures throughout the design lifecycle.
• Master’s degree in a relevant cybersecurity, mathematics, engineering, computer science, information technology, architecture, telecommunications, software development, or security engineering field.
• Certification in at least one of PMP, IAT Level III, IAM Level III, or IASAE Level III.
• Ability to work in the McLean, Virginia, United States location.

Nice to have

• SABSA certification at SCF level or above.
• CISSP or CISM certification.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture principles and federal Zero Trust mandates.
• Experience architecting security for health IT or clinical systems.
