Material Handler (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Receive, inspect, unload, stock, and organize steel, tubing, raw materials, and freight shipments.
• Operate forklifts, overhead hoists, and other material-handling equipment to move, store, and stage materials.
• Verify shipments against purchase orders and receiving documents, and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Prepare and deliver materials to production departments according to schedules and manufacturing requirements.
• Support inventory counts, cycle counts, equipment inspections, and inventory-control activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area while following environmental, health, and safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience operating forklifts or similar material-handling equipment, with the ability to safely operate overhead hoists and lifting equipment.
• Basic mathematics skills, including quantity verification and inventory calculations; ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to read work instructions, shipping documents, labels, and inventory records and follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, effective time management, reliable attendance, and commitment to workplace safety.
• Employment eligibility, background checks, drug screening, and required pre-employment testing are required.

Nice to have

• Experience handling steel, tubing, sheet metal, or other industrial raw materials.
• Forklift certification and experience with cranes, rigging equipment, or industrial lifting devices.
• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, or industrial environments.
• Experience with inventory management systems, warehouse systems, or ERP software.
