Senior Software Engineer (AI Agents)

Location: Austin, TX; hybrid for candidates in the Austin or Atlanta metro area, with three days per week in the office

Salary: $116,000–$195,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Design and build a unified frontend for streaming conversational AI agents supporting product discovery, pricing, quoting, order automation, fulfillment, delivery, and post-sale support.
• Build generative UI components such as product cards, cart and order summaries, quote views, and escalation flows rendered from agent output.
• Deliver merchant-facing control panel settings and shopper-facing agent views.
• Own frontend architecture, including component structure, streaming-data state management, theming, and embedding across storefront environments.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on event protocols and client-executed tools, and partner with product and design on conversational experiences.
• Prototype user stories, harden solutions for general availability, and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of frontend or full-stack software development experience.
• Expert-level JavaScript skills.
• Experience building real-time or streaming UIs with SSE or WebSockets.
• Experience building conversational or AI-assistant interfaces, including chat, generative UI, or copilots.
• Experience integrating frontends with complex backend APIs, with strong product ownership and problem-solving skills.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with e-commerce platforms or SaaS product development.
• Familiarity with design systems and embedding UIs into third-party or themed environments.
• Exposure to LLM-based frontend patterns such as token streaming, tool-call rendering, and approval flows.
• Experience with automation tools or AI copilots.
