What you will do
- Perform patient admission, pre-registration, and account registration activities.
- Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
- Verify insurance eligibility, select appropriate plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
- Screen medical necessity using Advanced Beneficiary Notice software and distribute required Medicare, Tricare, observation, consent, and patient education forms.
- Explain treatment consents, obtain signatures, provide patient instructions, and operate the hospital telephone switchboard.
- Audit accounts, correct documentation issues, and provide statistical reporting to Patient Access leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience.
- CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
- Must be able to work onsite in Pittsburgh, McMurray, or Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
- Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated curiosity and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
