Patient Access Associate Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at Bon Secours - Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Virginia; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform patient admissions, pre-registration, demographic and insurance data collection, and physician order processing.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, complete medical necessity and compliance checks, and support clean claim and billing processes.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, select applicable plan codes, and collect point-of-service payments and past-due balances.
• Explain and distribute consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms and obtain required signatures.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service to patients, guarantors, and internal departments.
• Audit accounts, correct documentation issues, and provide statistical reporting to Patient Access leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• CRCR certification required within six months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work onsite at the designated hospital in Franklin, Virginia.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
• Inquisitive approach and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvement.
