Associate Specialist, Patient Access (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at HSHS - St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, Illinois; limited to individuals who reside and are authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting, registration, and pre-registration activities for hospital patients.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify insurance eligibility, enter benefit data, support point-of-service collections, and help maintain clean claims.
• Complete medical necessity and compliance checks, including Advanced Beneficiary Notice screening for Medicare patients.
• Explain and distribute consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient education forms; obtain required signatures.
• Audit patient accounts, correct documentation, provide statistical data, and operate the telephone switchboard while delivering compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• Must work onsite in O'Fallon, Illinois, and reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
• Demonstrated curiosity and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
