Full Stack Engineer (AI)

Location: Brooklyn Navy Yard, New York City, United States; on-site

Salary: $175,000–$225,000 per year

What you will do

• Build high-fidelity interfaces in Svelte and SvelteKit for scientists and engineers working with large experimental datasets.
• Create scientific data visualizations, interactive graphics, and performant interfaces with real-time reactivity.
• Integrate frontend experiences with AI agents, including tool calls and streaming responses.
• Extend the Go backend with RPC endpoints, business logic, and server-streaming capabilities for live laboratory state.
• Design backward-compatible Protocol Buffer schemas and update generated TypeScript, Go, and Python clients.
• Model MongoDB data, maintain indexes and production migrations, and own features end to end from schema through UI.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional experience with TypeScript, HTML, and CSS; experience with responsive and mobile-first design.
• Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks and reactive state management; Svelte or SvelteKit is preferred.
• Professional server-side development experience in Go or another statically typed, compiled language.
• Experience with API contracts, preferably gRPC and Protocol Buffers, plus databases, data modeling, indexes, and production migrations.
• Hands-on data visualization experience with D3, SVG, canvas, or comparable technologies.
• Ability to work on-site at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic systems, prompting, MCP, or AI frontend integrations.
• Real-time delivery technologies such as server-streaming RPCs, WebSockets, SSE, or database change streams.
• Testing with Playwright or Vitest, API mocking, CI/CD, observability, or advanced browser APIs.
