Senior Network Engineer - 6 month fixed term contract (AWS)

Location: London, United Kingdom or Amsterdam, Netherlands; four days in the office. Structured Wednesday–Sunday or Friday–Tuesday shifts support global follow-the-sun coverage, with rotational on-call support.

What you will do

• Operate and improve network connectivity across on-premises trading platforms and AWS cloud environments.
• Configure edge routing, customer-facing infrastructure, VPCs, subnets, routing tables, security groups, transit gateways, and Palo Alto VPN connectivity.
• Support customer onboarding, connectivity testing, market data access, ticket queues, and planned maintenance activities.
• Monitor network telemetry and trading infrastructure, investigate packet loss and retransmissions, and lead incident response.
• Design Python, API-driven, and Claude Code automations for alerting, ticketing, telemetry, root cause analysis, and predictive monitoring.
• Maintain Grafana dashboards and perform packet captures and deep packet inspection using tcpdump, Corvil, or equivalent tools.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience with routing, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, PIM Sparse Mode, HSRP, firewall technologies, and packet-level troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of AWS compute, networking, storage, IAM, routing, and security controls.
• Experience with API-based development for network automation and operational tooling.
• High school diploma, GED, or technical/vocational education; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Availability for extended shifts, weekend coverage, and rotational on-call or escalation support.
• Relevant Cisco, AWS, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or Corvil certification is beneficial.
