Staff Systems Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid role. Work from abroad is available for up to six weeks per year.

What you will do

• Operate enterprise cloud infrastructure with a focus on high availability, performance, security, backups, and redundancy.
• Lead enterprise identity management, including Okta and governance for human and agentic identities.
• Evaluate, integrate, onboard, and configure new tools and systems based on business requirements.
• Manage networks, devices, Google Workspace, Linux environments, monitoring, and visualisation systems.
• Develop scripts, automations, and AI-powered solutions to reduce infrastructure maintenance effort.
• Provide third-level support, tune application stacks, and collaborate with SRE, platform engineering, and application owners on risks and incidents.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience administering enterprise cloud environments, ideally with GCP.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes, containerisation, Docker, VMware, and virtualisation.
• Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, network security, segmentation, and governance.
• Proficiency in Python, shell, or another scripting or programming language.
• Hands-on experience with Google Workspace, Linux, monitoring, observability, and visualisation systems.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup in Berlin, Germany.
