Truck Operations Specialist (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Laredo, Texas, United States; on-site vehicle operations with up to 50% travel, rotating day and night shifts, weekends, and overtime.

Base hourly wage: $31.00–$38.50 per hour, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Pilot autonomous semi trucks during on-road and closed-course testing for development and commercial pilot operations.
• Monitor the hirify.global Driver during extended autonomous driving periods and remain alert to operational conditions.
• Log real-time feedback on autonomy and platform performance for delivery to engineering teams.
• Escalate operational blockers, suggest solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain knowledge of software and operational changes, partner-platform access, certifications, and required accreditations.
• Interact with the public as an hirify.global ambassador and contribute to Vehicle Operations goals.

Requirements

• Based in Laredo, Texas, United States, with a valid U.S. driver's license and interstate Class A commercial driver's license.
• At least three years of commercial truck-driving experience and a driving record that meets Motor Vehicle Report guidelines.
• Must pass DOT physical, FMCSA-compliant drug testing, and all applicable DOT qualifications.
• At least 21 years old, with strong written and verbal communication and proactive decision-making skills.
• Available for rotating day, night, and weekend shifts, regular overtime, and up to 50% travel.
• Comfortable spending approximately 80% of each shift in the vehicle and maintaining safety-focused attention during autonomous operations.

Nice to have

• Truck driver trainer or instructor experience.
• Truck technician experience or experience in operations, technology, customer service, or automotive environments.
• Command-line interface experience and proficiency with G-Suite.
• Interest in technology tools, applications, gaming, or Adobe Creative Suite.
