Mission Operator (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Allen Park, Michigan, United States; requires overnight rotating shifts, local and multi-day travel across the United States, and air travel.

What you will do

• Drive development test vehicles on local missions of up to 300–400 miles and extended missions involving up to 50% travel.
• Work rotating overnight schedules and complete vehicle start-up, system engagement, disengagement, and shutdown procedures.
• Monitor and troubleshoot vehicle software and hardware systems while driving.
• Execute testing according to strict safety and compliance procedures.
• Maintain detailed vehicle-performance reports and provide engineers with feedback on system performance.
• Represent the organization professionally while prioritizing the safety of all road users.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least two years of employment experience.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of residence and a driving record that meets hirify.global requirements.
• Permanent legal authorization to work in the United States is required; employment eligibility will be verified at hire.
• Ability to pass ten-panel drug screening and criminal background checks.
• Comfort working long hours while driving and in close quarters, with strong focus and professionalism.
• Computer proficiency, basic software and hardware troubleshooting skills, reliability, and ability to work independently.

Nice to have

• Experience in technical driving, fleet operations, or vehicle testing.
• Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics and data-logging tools.
• Experience with Jira, Slack, Driver Schedule, or similar work-management tools.
