ECP Product Development Co-op (MedTech)

Location: Danvers, Massachusetts, United States; onsite

What you will do

• Develop next-generation heart pump and vascular access technologies with a cross-functional product development team.
• Plan and execute bench testing, including feasibility, characterization, simulated-use, and design verification testing.
• Develop test methods, select equipment, design fixtures, troubleshoot setups, and assess measurement repeatability.
• Create and iterate mechanical designs for components, prototypes, and test fixtures using 3D CAD.
• Support prototype fabrication through 3D printing, machining, and other rapid-prototyping methods.
• Analyze test data, investigate root causes, document results, and present engineering recommendations.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and enthusiasm for hands-on laboratory work, test setup construction, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Foundational knowledge of mechanical design, engineering mechanics, experimental methods, and data analysis.
• Experience with 3D CAD software; SOLIDWORKS is preferred.
• Ability to organize and analyze data using tools such as Microsoft Excel, with clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States and must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with prototyping, machining, 3D printing, laboratory testing, test method development, or medical device projects.
• Experience with statistical analysis software.
